The Runaway Guys Challenge, often abbreviated simply as TRG Challenge, is a category featured in Thrown Controllers where the contestant will pick one of the three TRG members and either play a video game against them or try to complete a challenge they set up.

Trivia[]
- All of the members' challenges have a common theme. Chugga's is either Mario Party or Nintendo games. NCS' is either puzzle or old school games. Jon's are either fighting games or really obsecure games.
- At Conbravo 2014, when the contestant played against Chugga in Domination, the contestant got 2nd while he got 4th but wasn't given the point because the AI won and Jon forgot which player the contestant was.
- At Otafest 2017, the contestant was forced to pick Jon because Tim ran out of challenges.
- Due to getting countless complaints that Jon's challenges were too hard he decided to make a solo challenge based on luck for Magfest 2019. This is also the only time someone has ever beaten a challenge of Protonjon's but he made his challenges harder starting at Pax East the same year.
- At Magfest 2019 to the Traveling Shows, Jon got tired of Emile and Tim not giving him challenges when he asked for them. This lead to Jon making up challenges for each of them. Emile for Magfest and the Boston show and Tim for Magfest and the traveling shows which was later shown during Colosseum.
- Tim's original challenge at Magfest 2020 was originally going to easier. The challenge was to go through 5 dialogue windows in Phoenix Wright in under a minute.
- No TRG Challenges were shown at Pax East 2014, Magfest 2018 and Momocon 2019.
