Chuggaaconroy
Two years later, the Unova Region faces a new crisis! The biggest Pokémon adventure ever, a hybrid of both versions, and so much weird stuff gone through in detail!

Pokémon Black 2 & White 2 is Chuggaaconroy's 48th Let's Play. Both the games and Let's Play are a direct follow-up to Pokémon Black & White, with Emile himself confirming that it was an incredibly popular request since that playthrough concluded.

It was announced on April 21, 2023 and began the following day, and concluded on January 12, 2024. The Let's Play has a total of 106 episodes with a total length of 48 hours, 8 minutes, and 24 seconds. With 106 videos and a time length of 48 hours, it is one of his longest Let's Plays to date, and his fourth longest overall (behind Mother 3, Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2).

Hints

The first two hints were posted to YouTube and Twitter on April 16, 2023. The third hint was revealed on the day before the announcement. The hints Emile gave for this Let's Play were:

"This is what you want the most."

"Doing everything requires us to play five different games."

"This is a direct sequel."

Episodes

Running Gags

  • In contrast to how much he praised Oshawott last time, Emile repeatedly refers to Oshawott as "Ugly Piplup".
  • Blaise calling her mother at the start of some episodes, and prompting conversations in an uncertain tone due to the question mark at the end of the Xtransceiver prompts.
  • Emile going out of his way to pronounce "Xtransceiver" in different ways each time.
  • Emile commenting on how the sprite distortion affects NPCs' eyes.
  • Emile acting as though Medals are like drugs to him.
  • Kirby frequently interrupting recordings by meowing in the background, often with a picture of him flashing onscreen as it happens. Becomes Running Gagged after Episode 48, due to Kirby passing away during the LP's production.
  • Emile not being able to read Trainers' defeat dialogue before it disappears.
  • Emile's catches somehow consistently coming with Special Defense-boosting natures and IVs, much to his exasperation. Emile: What is this team?! Why is it always Special Defense with you people?!
  • Emile creating variations of the Hiker Dance based on what trainer he fights with the theme. This is also frequently followed by him trying and failing to sing their dialogue to the tune of the music.
  • Emile complaining about Pokémon Breeders refighting the player constantly, coming up with various Cool and Unusual Punishments for whoever thought it was a good idea that compound on themselves in every iteration: Emile: Whoever thought it was a good idea for Pokémon Breeders to fight you should be forced to eat a jar of toenail clippings, have the horn honked on them while under the hood of their car, be forced to walk across a hundred yards of LEGOs barefoot, get told knock-knock jokes while they're trying to sleep, contract the stomach flu, and lose all their hard drives in a flood.
  • Emile never managing to get the extra free drink whenever he uses a vending machine. This gets Running Gagged in Episode 34.
  • Emile referring to the Pokémon World Tournament as the "PWT" (pronounced "Pwoot").
  • Emile being annoyed that NPCs that gift Pokemon not giving them due to him having a full party, usually complaining that, "They haven't heard of a computer?"

Memorable Moments

  • Episode 1: Blaise of Glory!
    • Before explaining why he decided to pick the girl as his player character, Emile acknowledges that she has to be somebody's "way-fu".
    • When Emile ponders over what he should name Rosa for the Let's Play, it cuts to Jon in his Rosalina outfit, looking up from his Switch, and slowly and solemnly shaking his head. It's as if the cosmic forces are swaying him to enforce the One-Rosa Limit.
    • When asked if the player knows how to open their bag: "Yeah mom, I'm not gonna hurt myself with a zipper. Again."
    • In the bio for Tepig, Emile is outraged that he has to have a Fire/Fighting-type choice four games in a row. Emile: It's almost like they made a Unova sequel just to spite me! AGAIN!
    • In the bio for Oshawott: Emile: What kinda Water Starter would it be if it didn't learn good Water moves? (beat) Emile: (in a quieter voice) Totodile.
    • Emile quickly explains the capture equation during Bianca's catching tutorial.
      • Even better? Emile confirmed on Twitter that the speedy capture equation was done in one take.
    • After seeing Alder jump from a cliffside, Emile proceeds to voice him as if he's walking with a limp. Alder: GYAAAH, MY KNEE!!!
  • Episode 2: Fleecy Floccesy!
    • Emile calling attention to the familiarity of Floccesy Ranch's music. Emile: It's because it's a remix of... (Smash Cut to the Hiker Dance) No, not that Hiker theme! It's the Hiker theme from Diamond and Pearl.
    • The drawbacks of playing as a girl finally start to rear their heads. Emile: Come at me, brooooo! (beat) "Come at me, sis" just... sounds... wrong.
    • Even after Typhoon is given his Town Map, Alder still refuses to battle Blaise. Emile: Oh no, he hit his head, too, on the way down! Either that, or the pain medication's making him loopy.
    • Fighting against Youngster Kenny gives us this little quip. Emile: Sorry, dude, but I'm gonna have to kill Kenny. He's even wearing orange, too.
    • Emile proves himself to be terrible at consoling people. Emile: Calm down, buddy. The dog's right over there! ...With that man who looks like a terrorist. I'm sure it'll be fine!
  • Episode 3: A Town Called Normal
    • Emile continues ousting Team Plasma as terrorists. Emile: That man looked like he could've bombed a train!
    • Bubblebutt the Azurill, caught in the last episode, finally reveals its purpose: to use Splash once, faint, and get boxed. The lengths some trainers will go for easy Medals...
    • Oh, come on. Your mom is totally hot. Emile: Oh, and in case you were wondering... No, our mom isn't hot! Her head looks like a freaking flowerpot!
  • Episode 4: A Badge and the Power to Play
    • Emile goes over various Medal tasks via a slideshow of semi-related images, including nicknaming Pokémon (a Porygon in Pokémon GO named "Windows 95") and participating in Link Battles (a meme reading "Landorus, Landorus Everywhere").
    • Emile fills in the blanks of the mail template with bleeped-out swears when reading it aloud.
    • Emile brings in NintendoCapriSun to help show off the various multiplayer features of the C-Gear, with all the shenanigans you'd expect.
    • After struggling for a few minutes to get the Xtransceiver function to work, we're treated to the hilarious sight of Emile and Tim using the incredibly shoddy video chat feature, with Tim's image barely moving at more than 2 FPS. Which amounts to little at first, because he holds his pog face for over half a minute.
    • Kirby periodically interrupts the video at random points with his loud meowing, which prompts a split second image of Kirby to pop up on screen whenever it happens.
    • The goofy faces Emile and Tim make for the cameras are worth a laugh.
  • Episode 5: Audino Who You Are Any More
    • Emile is clearly salty about Dunsparce not getting an evolution until Gen 9. Emile: He waited for twenty years while (Gamefreak) just sat around and made an Aipom with two hands instead!
    • After battling a trainer with a Sunkern: Lia: Wahh, My Pokémon can't fight any longer? Emile: Your Pokémon couldn't fight to begin with.
  • Episode 6: A Complex Problem
    • No sooner than Emile talking about how his mom is interrupting his intro does he get another Astonishingly Appropriate Interruption. Emile: Hey everybody, it's— (Repel wears off; Laughing Mad)
    • Soon afterwards, after he receives a Burn Heal: Emile: How'd it get burned, how'd it get burned?!
    • Just like in Emerald, Pignati ends up being 2 EXP away from the next level.
    • Emile aims to complete a sidequest to see every wild Pokémon in Virbank Complex while raising up his new Elekid. What he's forgotten is that Elekid always has the ability Static, which rigs the encounter rates so that Electric-type Pokémon are much more likely to be encountered, and the complex has several of them. The result? It takes him 50 encounters and nearly an hour to find the Fire-type Growlithe, who's normally a 20% encounter, and going insane in the meantime.
      • After finally finding the Growlithe, Emile catches it and nicknames it "J. Hoffa".
  • Episode 7: The Shoddy Beatles
    • Emile's frustration with how obnoxiously shrill Roxie's English singing voice is. Emile: That gets to have voice acting, yet freaking Piers doesn't in Sword and Shield?! Uuugh!
    • After bemoaning how so-close-but-far Pignati was from levelling up, it turns out he really was 2 EXP away from evolving!
    • Roxie wants Emile to learn the move Gunk Shot. However, Emile already knows four moves. Roxie: I can feel your desire to win pouring out of you! Emile: ...Don't you talk about my bodily fluids, thank you.
    • When reading the dialogue for Stu Deeoh, Emile gives him a very exaggerated French accent, which is so ridiculous that he actually gives up on it at one point.
    • This brilliant description of the second Brycen-Man installment. Emile: Essentially, we're... remaking a horribly botched thing, and having to do it over because of how bad it went the first time. It's like Sword Art Online!
  • Episode 8: The Rising Star
    • In the middle of ranting about how much of a complete joke Cut is in this game in particular, given that the incredibly common, 100% accurate Tackle was buffed to 40 attack power in Gen 5 (just 10 less power than Cut, which is also 5% less accurate) and you're given TMs for Return and Frustration, whose attack power can go as high as 102, before Roxie gives you Cut... Emile realizes that none of his current party members can learn it. And then when he travels to the Pokémon Center to access the PC, he's bemused when he realizes that none of his other Pokémon can learn it either, forcing him to catch a Patrat (which he names Cutty-Flam) to teach it to. Emile: Patrat! You're useful for something, man! You're going to be my dedicated Cut user. And I will never love you for it.
    • To Emile's utter shock, Lollipup ended up picking up a King's Rock on a 1% Pickup chance rate. Emile figures it's his trademark luck swinging back the other way after the shenanigans at Virbank Complex.
  • Episode 9: The Big, Stinkin’ City!
    • A woman suggests for Emile to scream at the ocean... and he does. Emile: CAPITALISSSMMMMM!!! Okay, now I feel better.
    • Emile gladly partakes in the Castelia Harlequin Hunt, because... Emile: Oh, awesome! That's great! I've always wanted to shoot clowns!
    • Emile almost forgets to bring Victini to Liberty Garden after trading it over.
    • Emile's reaction upon entering the Medal Office is, "You people supply my drugs!"
  • Episode 10: Pokémon Brown Version
    • Emile's disappointment with the Team Plasma Grunts for not yelling out "Plasmaaaaa!". Emile: You don't know the national anthem. […] National anthem? They're terrorists!
    • Emile gets into a Double Wild Battle with an Eevee (whom he intends to catch) and a Pidove. As he explains his strategy, he says, "This is a delicate situation, and I'm not going to mess it up!", only for Eevee to Quick Attack his Elekid, causing him to faint. Flavor Text: ...well, THAT didn't last long. Emile: You little sass! (laughs) That's amazing! That is so– Look at the dopey little smile he's got as he knocked out my Pokémon after I said I was gonna handle the situation with care!
    • The Eevee battle takes 5 minutes, partially due to him breaking out of two Nest Balls, and partially because he took down Emile's Victini as well!
    • When Emile gets to the Pokémon Center, he sees that he has Medals to obtain, but is quickly deflated to learn he only has Hint Medals. Emile: Well, f(beep)k you too!
    • The Eevee has a Lonely nature and "Hates to lose". Emile: You're telling me! This guy killed a Mythical Pokémon!
  • Episode 11: Cleaning Out
    • As Emile recaps the previous episode, and mentions catching Aidan the Eevee, a zoom-in of him occurs, complete with red filters and Scare Chords!
    • Emile refers to the Dowsing Machine (shortened to MCHN in-game) as Dowsing Mechon, even correcting Bianca on the pronunciation of it.
    • The Pokémon bio after Scraggy doesn't even get a proper transition. Instead... Emile: BOOM, BABY! Darumaka! Powerhouse, right here!
  • Episode 13: Tourist Traps
    • Emile's answer to both "What is your hobby?" and "What is your job?" is "Video Games".
    • When going over Whimsicott, Emile leaves in an error of him erasing Whimsicott's name to make the Lopunny infographic.
    • Emile's name for a hypothetical poison Eeveelution is Australeon.
  • Episode 15: Robbing the Artist
    • Kirby meowing after Emile states that "you don't need friends" after soloing a Funfest.
    • Emile corpsing after discovering that Burgh's Japanese name is Arty.
  • Episode 16: The Negative Zone
    • Upon transferring to Black 2, Emile takes a look at Flint (Tim)'s team. He's amused to learn that his Eevee (named Amaryllis) is the complete opposite of Aidan, having a Quiet nature and being quick to flee. Then there's Pizza Hut the Magby, who has a Relaxed nature but is mischievous, leading Emile to speculate he likes to sit back and watch people fall for his pranks.
    • Other teammates include Free Hugs the Cottonee, whom Emile is shocked managed to get up to Level 37 under Tim's training, and Cobra Kai the Lucario.
    • At one point, Emile goes into a very angry rant about Daylight Saving Time, while declaring that the way clock mechanics work in this game is the only good thing it's ever done. Emile: And don't you start commenting by telling me, "Oh, it's for the farmers." That is a common misconception. Every farmer I've ever talked to is like, "I work from Can't-See to Can't-See, it doesn't matter what the clock says." And I dunno if you've noticed, but there's been a little invention called "electricity" since then— (Kirby meows) ...I know Kirby, I'm just... very strong feelings. I grew up in Arizona, which is the only state that doesn't do [Daylight Saving], and then I move to states that do do it, and I'm like, "Wow, you guys are a bunch of f(beep)ing idiots!"
      • Then at the end, after showing off everything in Black 2's iteration of Route 4, Emile returns to Blaise's reality in White 2, where he's still ranting about Daylight Saving Time. Emile: And furthermore, if you think you like Daylight Saving Time, you're wrong, and people should make fun of you!
  • Episode 17: Braving the Desert
    • Behold, the sequel to the Hiker Dance: the Backpacker Dance.
    • While also a bit unfortunate, Emile takes some time to talk about Haywire from the Black and White LP (a Blitzle/Zebstrika who performed so notoriously poorly that Emile almost made her a temporary team member until deciding against it), and mentions that the fan-submitted nickname idea for her was copied off a forum post. He didn't bring in up in the LP, but reasons now that she was outright cursed because of having a plagiarized name.
  • Episode 18: Abandoned Friendships
    • Five generations in, Emile has lost all patience for Flareon. Emile: A new Eevee evolution is now available to us! (Flareon's bio appears) ...Flareon sucks. (bio vanishes)
    • Emile had planned on giving his Trapinch the nickname "Pacha", but because it ended up being a female, that plan went to shit.
      • He then spent so long trying to catch N's Pokémon, he got two more Trapinch. Both were also female.
    • Emile tries to use the bike out the Desert Resort and into Route 4, where it goes to a slog in the deeper sand. Emile: You ever ride your bike in sand? It sure is nice of them to put in a throwback to what movement was like in Diamond and Pearl for fans of that game, always thinking of others!
  • Episode 19: Join Our Team
    • Emile's favorite phrase and thing that moves his heart he enters for Join Avenue combined to form... something fitting. Join Avenue Owner: Yo, mama Nia Emile: U-Uh, more right than you know!
    • The decision to give Blaise the nickname "Sneakz", simply because a majority of her idle animations are shoe-related. He even went on a shoe tangent about how he got his Pokémon Converse shoes and the wild goose chase he went through to get a specific, out-of-production pair of shoes to finish the Rosa cosplay in the reveal trailer.
  • Episode 20: The City of Lights
    • The LPs may be planned out in advance, but they aren't futureproof. Description: That title’s gonna make my life awkward if we get to XY and I need a title for Lumiose City.
    • After Trapinch routinely loses her fights, Emile bites and gives her the Exp. Share. Emile: Ey, McFly! You don't need the Exp. Share; we'll give it to Trapinch.
    • Medals are now the new favorite of all. Emile: (gasp) When going back to heal, CHUCK QUIZMO!
  • Episode 21 Pokémon Train-ers
    • After going over the bio for Vaporeon, he pauses for a brief moment while going over the evolution stones. Emile: (deep breath) Let's keep scrolling on.
  • Episode 22: Conventional Wisdom
    • Emile's gone cold turkey for so long, that he starts the video with no background music. Emile: Do you know... how much restraint... it took... to not talk... to this man... for two... weeks?! I just got back from Otafest Calgary, and I did a hell of a lot of things in this game with you guys, and I know, in my heart of hearts, that I have... good-ass Medals! (Beat; music starts back up) Let's earn them, shall we?
    • Emile shows a picture of his C-Gear passes, which he had on during his convention excursion between Episodes 21 and 22. He passed 68 people, and was disappointed one more person didn't show up.
    • Due to McFly's ability increasing the encounter rate for Electric-types, Emile battles a lot of Emolgas while searching for a Panpour.
    • Combee's bio hasn't changed one bit. Emile: Combee! (gags) Bad! Bad! BAD!
    • Emile cuts into the middle of his end screen, for the sake of just one Medal.
  • Episode 24: GIVE ME WHAT I NEEEEED
    • The name given to Curtis' Xtransceiver is an especially ingenious play on words. Emile: Huh! We got a Cross Trans Rights!
    • The "subtle" foreshadowing when Curtis says he likes Poison-types, Emile's favorite type. Emile: We were made for each other!
    • Emile makes sure to emphatically emphasize the fact that Elesa's Gym has more voice acting than Gen 8 and Gen 9 combined.
  • Episode 25: Guide to Join Avenue
    • The wording of Elesa and Marlon's Join Avenue preferences is a kneeslapper due to how blunt they are. Elesa: Likes women Marlon: Likes men
    • In the middle of hyping up the fan continuation of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, Emile's 3DS fails to connect to it due to an ISP issue right on cue of him talking about how simple it was, and he has to fall back on a secondary method of connecting that involves a little more effort. Emile: All I did was change a number! (error screen appears) ...Uh.
    • While giving the grand tour of Join Avenue Amethyst, he brings special attention to the Beauty Salon known as "Studio Dumbass". He can't help but imagine the owner whipping out gigantic head shears to trim the customers' Pokémon.
  • Episode 26: Bridging The Gap
    • Emile hypes us all up for Driftveil City's music... and then cuts it off before the beat drops. Emile: I'm so evil!
  • Episode 28: Atonement
    • Emile's standards for being invited into the old Team Plasma's base are really low. Emile: This doesn't seem like a good idea... Oh! A Zorua? Nevermind, this is a good idea!
    • During The Stinger, Emile briefly breaks the immersion by singing Driftveil City's music.
  • Episode 29: Amounting to Something
    • The first 30 seconds feature no dialogue, and consists of Emile slowly backtracking to Castelia City just to talk to Amanita. Emile: THERE! Now it doesn't say "Someone's PC" anymore!
  • Episode 31: Clayming Victory
    • At the beginning of this episode, Emile attempts to have Blaise look up at the screen while doing his intro... only to accidentally have her go down the conveyor belt that's in front of her. Cue a Big "NO!" and We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties screen.
  • Episode 32: You Would Not Believe Your Eyes...
    • In the description, Emile admits that the Owl City shout-out was done because his other title idea was a Corona pun, which obviously wouldn't fly well now.
    • As Emile is hyping up his confrontation with Volcarona in the ruins, a random encounter with a Baltoy completely breaks the tension he had set up.
  • Episode 34: Competing in Two-naments
    • Burgh's losing quote is spoken by none other than... Waluigi: Aww... I lost.
    • The Running Gag gets gagged in the most hilarious fashion yet. Emile: You guys are obsessed with showing me your freaking double soda Medals, because all of you have it, and I don't. (second Soda Pop drops) AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!
      • Emile reminiscing on this moment. Emile: I sounded like a monkey! No, a monkey if it... had a baby with a... no. No, I meant a monkey crossed with a little girl— that's terrible.
  • Episode 35: Riding the Foxy
    • Apparently, taking your anger out results in serious short-term memory loss. ...Results in serious short-term memory loss. Emile: Get! In the water! Rosa! Thank you! (beat) Man, you know you're in trouble when I call you by your official name.
    • It's no wonder than Emile considers Aidan to be evil incarnate. Emile: I get to try out Surf! Aidan has a water move! Majin Buu is at full poweeeeer!
    • Emile's metaphor for a person without Surf is a "naked swimmer".
  • Episode 38: In The Mistralton Sunlight
    • Mistralton Cargo Service's bag check has some... interesting priorities. Bag Check: Hey! Do you have any Flying- or Psychic-type Pokémon with you? Emile: I got one that's both at the same time! Bag Check: Oh! Braviary is with you! Emile: No, why'd you go for the Braviary, you weirdo?!
  • Episode 42: To the Little Place in the Sky
    • When Bianca nonchalantly says that she'll be waiting in the volcano up ahead, Emile can't get to the end of the sentence without sputtering in laughter. He proceeds to ad-lib some dialogue of his own to point out how ridiculous that sentence was. Bianca: I'll be in the volcano just beyond he— (interrupted by Emile corpsing at what was just said) Emile: (as Bianca) Yeah, I'm gonna go, I'll be in the volcano, guys, see you later! (more corpsing)
    • Emile's attempt to get two Blue Shards to teach Jade Dragon Pulse got thwarted first by Amethyst not selling Grab Bags due to Emile changing the clock. He then goes to PWT to do the forfeit trick and goes thirteen attempts before getting the first shard and got the second shard after the sixteenth. And he was in there so long, it turned to night in-game.
    • Emile's reaction to Elesa's Hurricane of Puns is about what you'd expect. Emile: (goofy voice) I... love you! Skyla: Elesa... Those are just a bunch of bad puns. Where's the joke? Emile: (Angrish) Skyla, no! You're not- ...You haven't lived!
  • Episode 43: In The House
    • There's a lot of new Pokémon to go over, but the route is so short that Emile is done exploring it long before the bios end. So, he flies to Nimbasa and enters Pignati in a Pokémon Musical while they're still going.
    • At the end of Spoink's bio, Aidan crits and knocks out Harmony with Surf in a double battle. Emile: FREAKIN' AIDAN!
  • Episode 44: Twin Peaks
    • Emile is so Medal-dehydrated, that he calls the Superstar Medal the Superstar Model, complete with a shot of Elesa.
    • Tim just casually owning a Shiny Cinccino. Emile: He straight up Shiny hunted at full odds and got a Minccino, which was the Pokémon he wanted, on the first try, all because he was bored one day?!
    • True to form, Emile makes a pun. Emile: Over by the Hiker, there's a Hyper Potion. (beat) Or if you will, a Hiker Potion.
  • Episode 46: Knowing the Secrets
    • The third installment of the Hiker/Backpacker dance: the Fisherman dance, in which Emile sits in his bathtub dressed like a fisherman wearing flippers and swinging a fishing rod around. Which hits something offscreen midway through the gag.
  • Episode 48: The Chief Justice
    • Cobalion breaks out of the Nest Ball after three shakes. Cue immediate Smash to Black as Emile screams. It cuts back half a second later.
    • The Psychic in the Lacunosa Town Pokémon Center who tells the player their teams for each badge recalls Emile's pack of pickup Lillipup dwindling until the Quake Badge.
  • Episode 49: The City of Music
    • Emile's critical commentary on a lady's Gothorita. Emile: Uh, lady, you got Gonorrhea.
    • Emile performs another live-action dance: this time as a tennis player. Only this time, he's interrupted midway through by someone throwing a tennis ball in his face, causing him to break out into giggles.
      • Later on, the Hiker song plays as Emile encounters a basketball player... only to show a completely blank screen during the music. Emile's reason for this? Emile: Sorry. I ain't playin' no stinking basketball.
  • Episode 50: Virizion Wired
    • A Pokémon Ranger giving Emile a Favored Mail results in this exchange: Ranger: I like that there's nothing! But it's sure hard to share... Emile: Well, you gave me nothing, so, uh... yeah, it's thematically fitting!
    • During the bio for Amoonguss, a picture of an Among Us crewmate slowly fades in over the picture of Amoonguss itself.
  • Episode 51: Time's Dividing Line
    • The episode begins with a spectacular Mood Whiplash as the POV shifts from White 2 to Black 2 again. Emile calmly calls his mother, greets the audience, reads the city's sign, and then cut to the Black 2 universe in which Emile is enthusiastically beatboxing to the city's theme music.
    • Emile's frustration with the amount of Filler in Johto Journeys causes him to sound unintentionally sexist. Emile: And then when they finally do it, them getting to Goldenrod and not fighting Whitney, was the season finale! I was so upset! So, then it was more months of waiting for them to just freaking fight that damn cow already! Uh, the Miltank. Not... Not Whitney. That sounded bad...
  • Episode 52: Gotta Catch a Mall!
    • The episode was recorded right as soon as Emile first caught strep throat, causing him to start the episode with an Inopportune Voice Crack, which he leaves in just because he thought it was funny.
  • Episode 55: Whale Watchers
    • Emile accidentally uploaded the video a few days early as Episode 54, causing a Late-Arrival Spoiler of Team Plasma's attack on Opelucid City in his intro.
  • Episode 56: Marlin What a Darlin’
    • A very particular case of Artificial Stupidity occurs, in which an enemy trainer gets to go first with their Water-type Basculin against Pignati, but uses Soak, a move that transforms the enemy into a Water-type, making Pignati resist Water moves, which amuses Emile for the rest of the battle. Emile: You should have your Ace Trainer license revoked!
  • Episode 57: The Terra-ble Trio
    • When coming across a Zebstrika in Small Court, Emile tries to dance around saying a swear by coming up with the word "smeg". As it turns out, however... Emile: Guys, I just looked it up, and smeg is a stand-in for a censored cuss word! (chuckles) I wasn't even intending that! I just made something up instead of saying a swear word, and then it... actually happe— It really meant what I meant for it to mean! That's amazing!
  • Episode 58: The Horny Ass
    • The episode title itself counts as a CMOF. Description: I’M SORRRRRY!!!
    • Emile attempts to show off an incredibly rare possession of his, an actual kiosk cartridge that was used by GameStop employees to give out event Keldeo to players. When he turns it on however, he gets a black screen with text that simply says "Distribution not available now", which Emile reads in disbelief before cutting to a We Are Experiencing Technical Difficulties screen.
    • The episode's end card artwork is of Blaise, Harmony, and McFly hiding behind Pignati from Aidan.
  • Episode 62: The Truth to Ideals
    • When Emile's fighting a Plasma grunt, Lasagna gets put in low health and to sleep. Emile looks in his bag for a Full Restore... only to completely fail to see the TWO Full Restores he has in his bag and claim in bewilderment that he doesn't have any.
    • Since Emile has changed a few things with his team, he's constantly misremembering things about it, like forgetting that McFly has Motor Drive, or that Pignati doesn't have the Rocky Helmet.
    • The fight with Colress's Magneton goes completely sideways. On the first turn, it gets a Crit Flash Cannon and OHKOs Jade, Then immediately afterwards Freezes McFly with Tri Attack. Emile is not happy. Emile: This is going to hell in a handbasket! What the Hell's going on here?! I'm losing to a Magneton!
  • Episode 63: The Absence of Black or White
    • After spending Black Kyurem's whole bio hyping up its destructive power, Emile starts White Kyurem's bio by ranting about how stupid it looks, complemented by a picture of White Kyurem looking embarrassed and silly background music, before realizing he's supposed to give it a serious examination.
    • It's evident this episode was done in the same recording as Episode 62, as he still doesn't notice the two Full Restores, and makes a comment about not having any when Ghetsis uses his. He even picked the Casteliacone to heal an ailing Aidan, which is right above the Full Restores in the Status Restore menu!
  • Episode 64: Life After Plasma
    • Emile goes over the bios for the Pokémon in Giant Chasm's hidden grotto while battling a Clefairy that he found in it. While mocking Metang for its useless Hidden Ability, he catches the Clefairy and names it Poopernova.

    • Right after saying the person who had the idea that Pokémon Breeders rematch you "should be forced to eat a jar of toenail clippings, have the horn honked on you while on the hood of their car, walk over a hundred yards of LEGOs... barefoot, told knock-knock jokes while they are trying to sleep, and contract the stomach flu", said Pokémon Breeder says, "Looks like I lost to you in the love-and-care department."
  • Episode 67: Everything About Pokémon Dream Radar!
    • When moving the 3DS camera around, Emile ends up hovering it over the screen recording, creating a Droste Image.
    • Emile's description of Pokémon Dream Radar is certainly one for the books. Emile: I apologize for the strong language I'm about to use here, but it's really played best like a mobile game.
    • While fighting Thundurus, Emile's desktop background is revealed to be Daisy.
      • For bonus points, he starts the fight with a tool that lets him suck Thundurus in, so he repeatedly chants "SUCK! SUCK! SUCK!" while Daisy is in the background.
  • Episode 70: Reaching for the Top
    • Turns out, Emile utterly forgot that Typhoon would fight him at the end of Victory Road, which leads to an absolutely priceless dumbfounded reaction followed by a solid 10 seconds of Stunned Silence from the man. Emile: Wait- You- Excuse- What?? No, you don't-
  • Episode 73: THE GREAT POSTGAME EXTRAVAGANZA
    • It took Emile 35 tries to get the Meloetta Event from RiiConnect24.

  • Episode 75: A Total Wash
    • Cheren's Haxorus has Rivalry, which raises Attack by 25% against the same gender (Male, in this case), and lowers it if opposite. He sends out Aidan, expecting him to tank Haxorus' attacks, only for Aidan to get stomped to the ground, due to the power boost from Rivalry. Harmony ends up taking the hits better, because she's able to weaken the Haxorus by being Female. Emile's none the wiser about this.
    • Emile loses to Cheren's Memory Link battle. Against his Simisear of all things!
  • Episode 76: Overpowering Emotions
    • Tim farts right when Emile picks up Gooey Mulch. And it got picked up in the recording.
    • Emile spends the entire Mesprit sidequest incredulous at the jilted women trying to stop him from ringing the bell at their ex-boyfriend's request and questions if these women have no lives.
  • Episode 79: Story of Seasons
    • When sending out his Pokémon for a triple battle against one of the Shadow Triad, Emile accidentally says the word "Jaiden" while commenting on who he's sent out into the field. He then jokes that this is Jade and Aidan's Portmanteau Couple Name if they were to be shipped together.
  • Episode 80: Double Dragons
    • Emile gets comedically bad rolls for Reshiram: Adamant nature, 25 IV in HP, 31 IV in Attack, 0 IV in Defense, 5 IV in Sp.Atk, 12 IV in Sp.Def, and a 6 or 7 IV in Speed. The Nature and Attack IV would make Zekrom jealous.
  • Episode 82: A Movie About Making Movies: A PokéStar Guide
    • When catching a Sunkern as failure fodder, Emile wants to nickname it after someone who people would want to see fail. His immediate thought? Schumer. He decides on Sheen instead.
    • He uses Poopernova the Clefable in one of the movies to demonstrate the usage of Gravity. Unlike Supernova, she nails the Fire Blast chance twice in a row, which has Emile wishing that Supernova could be a little bit more like this Clefable.
    • Emile finds a stack of old movie scripts in the private dressing room. Said scripts are a myriad of Pokémon-based puns of movie titles, which he laughs hysterically at. After putting up with Pokéstar Studios for several hours, he considers that Worth It.
  • Episode 83: Transfer of Power
    • Magikarp was one of the Pokémon that Emile commissioned artwork for.
    • Emile takes so long to catch Cresselia she faints herself with Struggle. While Aiden is out, of course. The godslayer adds another to its tally without even trying!
    • Emile somehow getting a medal for having a Pokémon with Pokérus, even when none of his team contracted the virus. A check showed that the Umbreon that he transfered somehow had the virus.
    • When Emile is forced to save before using the Poké Transfer, he hopes that his recording doesn't fail afterwards. He then stops the video and reveals that his audio stopped working at this point in the recording session and he didn't realize it until after he recorded a few episodes worth of content.

    • In contrast to the tiny depiction of Level 1 Regigigas in Platinum, the Level 68 Regigigas seen here eclipses the Earth!
  • Episode 88: Nothing Goes Right
    • Beyond the one-hour delay on the video, the title is very apropos, as Emile starts the video by going to the Battle Subway... and getting curb-stomped by yet another Simisear.
      • A little later, Emile mentions that Tim did this during the main story and had no trouble with the Subway Bosses.
  • Episode 93: Make Eggs, Throw Eggs
    • After doing a couple of battles in the Trainer's School, Jade ends up being 2 EXP away from the next level. This gets funnier when Emile KOs a Patrat on Route 19, and it only gives him 1 EXP. He then KOs a Purrloin on the same route, which ends up giving him enough EXP to get to Level 70 instead.
  • Episode 94: I Did This to Myself
    • Due to spending so much of his time showing off the breeding mechanics in the last episode, Emile is utterly horrified when he enters a double battle with Cilan against Cress and Chili, only to realize that the only Pokemon he has are Volcarona and Strutly. To add insult to injury, the former goes down in one hit without even being able to do anything.
    • Emile being unprepared for the automatic encounter with Latias, resulting in a Trauma Conga Line involving Latias using Psycho Shift causing her to give her paralysis to McFly while her health was too low for McFly to risk another Thunder Punch for another paralysis (Emile swapped out Thunder Wave at this point), then he runs out of Timer Balls and Ultra Balls and eventually Latias KOs herself with Struggle.
  • Episode 95: Sight Sharing
    • When throwing the initial Ultra Balls at Latios, he starts with "Zero" and other common synonyms before devolving into Take That! at his elementary school homework, Sunkern, Godfrey from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Congress when he breaks out immediately.
  • Episode 96: Accumula-ting More Pokémon!
    • As pointed out by this comment, at 16:07, when Emile mentions how he doesn't have an Onix for a sidequest, Box 4 shows he has one. Obviously he doesn't realize it.
    • Around 29:03, Emile realizes he has two boxes named Box 4 (one in upper casing and the other in proper casing) and how until now no one was none the wiser about it. And somehow his box 5 is called Bow 5.
    • Then there's the absolute mess of trying to get a Whismur. When trying to get on GTS for a viewer's Whismur, he got an error code that baffled the server admins, so he had to go for alternative means because troubleshooting couldn't figure it out. He couldn't use the HeartGold/SoulSilver Hoenn Sound method because neither of his games are in the postgame. Catching it in Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald would be a hassle due to double-migration. The third option was to PokéRadar a Loudred in Platinum to breed a Whismur, which is a reasonable 22% encounter rate on Mt. Coronet. The desire sensors then decide to be a jerk and throw him three Absols before he got a single Loudred, which have a measly 5% encounter rate, dragging out his search into a forty-five minute slog.
  • Episode 99: 'Dex Bonus
    • Emile needs about 50 Shuppet to demonstrate the best way to get the "Exp Millionaire" medal. His first two batches of 6 have nicknames for the occasion, first "Take", This", "House", "and", "Shuppet", and "!", and later "Oi!", "You", "are", "a", "ROIGHT", and "Muppet".
  • Episode 100: The Last Legend
    • While going over the Battle Virtuoso Medal, Emile does a Madness Mantra for Medals that sounds VERY similar to "MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA MUDA!"
  • Episode 104: Superwoman Superboss
    • Before taking on Cynthia, he decides to runback the Latias encounter he squandered ten episodes ago. The encounter takes almost half the runtime, and he names her "Trouble" for being a pain to catch. She's even the Naughty nature, which is salt in the wound from how much the catch RNG was being spiteful.
  • Episode 105: Climbing That Tower
    • One of the many trainers Emile battles sends out a Wigglytuff that is so underleveled compared to his team that it attempts a Double Slap on Pignati and does more damage to itself thanks to Pignati's Rocky Helmet. Emile just feels sorry for it.
    • Every time Emile returns to the lobby from the Area 6 and beyond elevator, he laughs at a Hiker positioned right in the camera as the scene transitions in.
    • A Freeze-Frame Bonus at the end of the video shows Emile made his Trainer Card phrase "ANIME is the real TOXIC BOOST".
  • Episode 106: Finale
    • As per Finale tradition, he adds a Stinger... consisting of rapid-fire objectives to get every medal in the game. Some of the scenes are even missing due to Emile never having achieved them before due to their sheer difficulty.

Trivia

  • From Episode 2 onwards, Emile began using a new format for indicating episode numbers, simply putting the number in brackets ((x)) after the proper episode title.
  • During protection of the LP, Kirby passed away the morning of July 8th, 2023, at the age of 19 years and 10 months, and Emile and Tim were there when Kirby passed away. Emile later announced that Kirby had appeared in a few unreleased recordings prior to his death. Kirby's final recorded appearance was in Episode 48 of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, and a tribute to him was featured at the end of that LP.
  • MasaeAnela had been Emile's go-to artist for Pokémon games since the Pokémon Emerald LP. However, by the time production began on this Let's Play, Emile and Masae were no longer on speaking terms which led to Emile commissioning approximately 20 different artists to make one work each, rather than burdening a single artist with having to redo every one of Masae's works. For that same reason, NintendoCapriSun takes over Masae's role of playing through the opposite version to show off major differences, no doubt bolstered by the fact Emile and Tim became housemates in late 2021.
  • This was Emile's final LP before he took a seven month hiatus a week after posting the episode's finale in January 2924, as a result of the misconduct allegations against him which he cleared up in April of the same year. He returned with an LP of Xenoblade Chronicles: Future Connected in August of the same year.
