- First appearance of Elesa's Zebstrika.
- This is the third episode to feature a double evolution of team members.
- The first was Pokémon FireRed - Part 22, in which Bulbapedia evolved into a Venusaur and RK9 evolved into an Arcanine.
- The second was Pokémon Crystal - Part 33, in which Roary evolved into an Arcanine and Vui evolved into an Espeon.
- This is the first occurrence of this in which neither evolution was an Arcanine, and in which both were via level-up.
- Haywire was only a few points from reaching the evolution level since Episode 16.
- This episode features rare post-commentary, during a battle with a gym trainer.
- As Emile is doing battle against a Lady, he notices her name is 'Colette' and proceeds to joke "Sheesh. Fighting the Chosen of Regeneration herself."
- Following this episode, Emile went on a two week hiatus, due to Magfest 2018 and a sickness.[1]
