Jinzou

Jinzou is Emile's Claydol in his Let's Play of Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. They were the third Pokémon to join Emile's team.

Chugga snagged Baltoy from Browsix in "Episode 7: Hexagon Brothers."

Jinzou was named in "Episode 15: Security Nett" by Furenzu1, as "Jinzou" is Japanese for artificial and it was named after Chugga's favorite card when he played Yu-Gi-Oh. Jinzou evolved into a Claydol in "Episode 27: Gonzap."

Trivia

• Jinzou's role is rather a hybrid of Walnut and Affection. While it is a wall, it does decent damage with Psychic and Explosion. Jinzou provides Light Screen to shield against Special Attacks while having Levitate to avoid Earthquake from Billy Bob in addition to Billy Bob shrugging off Explosion without having to use Protect.
  • Normal-type moves like Explosion do only a quarter of the normal damage to Billy Bob, a dual-type Rock/Steel (both of which resist Normal). Affection, a Ghost-type, is superior in that department (Ghost-types are outright immune to Normal-typed moves).
• Jinzou is Emile's:
  • 1st genderless team member.
  • 2nd Ground-Type team member and Unique type combination team member.
  • 3rd team member that used Explosion & Selfdestruct.
  • 4th Psychic-Type team member.
• Jinzou is the first case where it was caught in the exact same location as another team member, in this case Mah Stache.
• Jinzou's nickname comes from a monster from Yu-Gi-Oh!; the monster's English name Jinzo roughly translates to 'artificial' and is an abbreviated version of its original name, Jinzōningen - Saiko Shokkā, which translates to "Android - Psycho Shocker." The monster Jinzo has the ability to nullify Trap Cards; similarly, Jinzou has an immunity to Ground-type moves via its Levitate ability.
