Flame Chomps, otherwise known as Fire Chomps, are an enemy type encountered in the Mario Series.

Attacks and WeaknessesEdit

In all games that they appear in, Flame Chomps will chase after Mario or Luigi by floating around the stage. At any time, they will shoot one of their four fireballs at them. Once they have shot all four fireballs, they will explode, damaging the Mario brother or brothers within their blast radius. In some games, they will begin to chase Mario or Luigi with greater speed before exploding. In New Super Luigi U, they gain the new ability of shooting all of the fireballs from their tail at once, creating a much larger fireball. They can be defeated by hits from stomps, fireballs, hammers, Starmen, and tail whips.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii Edit

Fire Chomps appear in World 2-6, World 8-3, and World 9-6.

New Super Mario Bros. U Edit

Fire Chomps appear only once: in a secret, Star Coin holding room in Peach's Castle-3: Rising Tides of Lava.

New Super Luigi U Edit

Flame Chomps appear in this game, especially in Meringue Clouds-5: Flame Chomp Ferris Wheel.

Super Mario Bros. 3 Edit

Fire Chomps first appeared in Episode 7: Busy Beetles in World 5-5. One of them killed NCS.

Trivia Edit

  • Emile states that they're one of the few Mario enemies that he can't remember the official name of.
