Memorable Moments
- Running Gags:
- Chugga being confused about how the game is translated into British (rather than American) English, such as "first floor" referring to the first floor above ground level, rather than being the ground level.
- He keeps getting interrupted and startled by Visions related to collectibles.
- His glee every time Reyn says a cheesy Pre Ass Kicking One Liner, or says something about "Reyn Time".
- Him making a lot of Fire Emblem: Awakening jokes in the last part of the Let's Play.
- His shipping of Shulk/Melia.
- Episode 1: First battle against a Colony Krabble. Chugga: "Wild Dwebble appeared!"
- The battle in question begins with the Colony Krabble landing a blow on Shulk... and a tutorial pops up in the process, much to Chugga's irritation.
- A Colony 9 Resident asks Shulk to find two Vang Teeth for her grandmother's handicrafts. Chugga reads the summary of her dialogue out loud, but manages to misread "handicrafts" as "handicraps" of all things, before realising what he just said and awkwardly correcting himself.
- Episode 4: Chugga speeds up footage for the long, long swim to Agora Shore for a quest and plays over it "the first swimming stage music that comes to mind while I'm editing this, no matter how unfitting it may be" i.e. the Underwater music from Super Mario Bros..
- Episode 7: The "Achievement" called Small Ice Crystal.
- "Whenever you complete a row, you get a page!"
- Episode 9: His getting repeatedly ambushed by Territorial Rotbart, a Level 81 Unique monster while he was attempting to finish a quest.
- We also see the first instance of the AI's Artificial Stupidity in pathfinding.
- Episode 10: While trying to retreat from battle and recover, Chugga ends up getting chased by more and more enemies, much to his frustration.
- The intro to Episode 11, in which Reyn is walking in place in front of the buggy, while Shulk is trying (and failing) to get over it before he mysteriously floats into the air over the buggy. Chugga cannot even get through his entire intro fluently without cracking up.
- The outro of Episode 13: Chugga: I want you to pay attention to these idle animations. From what I've gathered, Shulk thinks a lot, Reyn's got bad shoulder problems, and Sharla has got bad back problems, and...WOW! I didn't even think about what I was implying by saying that Sharla has back problems!
- Also, in Episode 13 itself, he misreads "Warrior" as "Wario" and Wario flashes up on screen. Then wonders if it's a British thing.
- Episode 14: Chugga: Adventurous times, we're starting off this time by looking for a PIECE of PAPER!...oh well, who am I to turn down free experience and money.
- Later in the episode, he realises something he didn't know before: the two Arduns near a unique Tirkin can do a chain attack with it. They promptly do... and every single one of their attacks misses.
- Episode 15: Shulk and Sharla fall down the stream down to the abyss and respawn. Chugga's comments are priceless.
- Also when Chuggaa makes Reyn fall down the stream in an infinite loop.
- Episode 16: While taking the second elevator down, Chugga accidentally leaves Reyn behind, leaving him to run pointlessly in front of the elevator door.
- Also in Episodes 16-18, any time his party members fail to get onto moving platforms on time and fall to their deaths.
- Chuggaa accidentally makes Shulk fall off a cliff to his death while trying to explain something during a battle.
- Episode 20: Sharla gets her HP dropped to zero in mid air. She falls to her doom... and lands in water, also somehow restoring 1HP so as to survive. Chuggaa says this is one of the most amazing things he has seen all day, up to and including the Secret Area he jumped from.
- Episode 21: While fighting the Sunlight Schvaik, Chuggaa receives a vision that it will kill Dunban. The vision disappears... and Dunban's auto-attack kills it. He even receives the achievement 'Not Gonna Happen' for it.
- Chugga finds a location called "Mauk Floodgate". Chugga: Ha ha! You're missing a segment! I can walk right through you! What? It said "mock floodgate" so I did.
- Earlier on he accepts a quest from Zazadan, only for Zazadan to plant his face in the ground as he goes to sleep.
- Episode 22: During a battle on Raguel Bridge, Sharla abruptly falls off the side into the water along with a bunch of Mooks. She manages to win, but Chugga thinks he completely lost her under the bridge before she teleports next to him.
- Earlier, during a battle with a flying enemy, another enemy randomly falls out of a tree and just sits there for the whole battle.
- Episode 23: At the end, Chugga explains that there are still more side-quests to do in Colony 9, and right on cue, an NPC with a quest walks on-screen.
- Episode 24: Sharla and Dunban hurling themselves off a cliff.
- Also, Shulk nonchalantly being pushed around by an NPC in the middle of the video intro.
- Episode 25: Dunban gets knocked off a ledge by an enemy and proceeds to embarrass himself/the AI from there by running in random directions.
- Then Shulk and Dunban fall off a branch and start running around at super speed in circles. Chugga: *cracking up* What are they doing?! Like—pfft—they were like, frickin' doing the do-si-do at Mach 10 or something like that!
- And then when he starts a chain attack, he has to wait for around 5 seconds just so Shulk can get into a good position.
- During the story battle with the Lesser Telethia, the Monado keeps giving Chugga visions of missed attacks and resisted arts to the point where it starts to annoy him.
- Episode 30:
- Chugga goes to a weapons shop to see if there's anything useful for him. Cue him scrolling down the list of weapons and saying "sucks" at each one.
- Episode 31:
- Chugga ends up getting all of the items needed for a quest without even trying, and is annoyed by the "item get" message.
- A quest tab for the quest "Making a Mixer" says this: Objective: Make a Mixer. seriously. that's it. Prerequesite: Talked a Pepa.
- Chugga ending up getting a high level monster into a battle needed for a quest, and while he's able to revive Riki... Chugga: Let's *Shulk and Riki are both killed* ...fail miserably.
- Episode 33:
- Chugga struggling to defeat a group of Defensive Kromar due to getting continuously art sealed. And right after he said these enemies aren't that tough.
- Episode 35:
- While talking about how underleveled the enemies in the High Entia tomb are and how you're in almost no danger of dying, he accidentally walks off a cliff and dies, forcing himself to start at the beginning of the tomb.
- Reyn's AI starts acting strangely while climbing on the walls of the tomb.
- Episode 36:
- Chugga starts hopping around the tomb, talking about how much he loves platforming, then falls off and dies. Again.
- Episode 37:
- Early in the video, he starts his runaround to pick up sidequests to raise affinity. In a blink-and-miss moment, post-production text points out an NPC that appears one moment, and disappears seconds after, poking fun at the dodgy draw distance of the game.
- While Chuggaa ends it off, a carriage goes into Dunban and Riki, moving them.
- Episode 38:
- The "Lots of camera adjusting later..." timecard, accompanied by a sound clip early in the music used in the "Riki Joining" cutscene, is priceless.
- Episode 41:
- Chugga unexpectedly finding the last item in the Eryth Sea Collectopedia while under the impression that it was in a completely different area.
- The "Like" counter.
- In episode 42, Chuggaa has a strange moment with the end-of-battle quotes. Dunban: But we musn't be careless! Melia: But we cannot be reckless! Chuggaa: *laughs* But we musn't be redundant!
- Also, this little moment after he gives 2 negative answers with Reyn in the end slate of said episode. Dunban: Think of Shulk as the sword and yourself as the shield. And I'm... ah, got it. I can be Shulk's trusty steed. Chuggaa: The mental image this gives me is Shulk with a great, big, beaming smile across his face, wielding the Monado in one hand, holding up Reyn like a shield off of the ground with his other hand, all while piggybacking on Dunban.
- Which leads to this.
- In Episode 43, he marks the location for Coppice Quadwings as "Freaking Everywhere, Satorl Marsh" in his quest card for Nature Level 2.
- Chuggaa's comments on Melia's Elemental Discharge animation appearing to have hit Reyn during the battle with the Confused Ekidnos.
- Dunban falling off the Lighthouse during the fight with the third Decay Ekidno.
- The entire fight against the Decay Ekidnos is one huge clusterfuck, thanks to the cramped quarters of the lighthouse.
- Episode 44:
- Chugga gets a quest called "Preparing for Adventure 3". Chugga: Sounds like the Sonic fanbase for the last twelve years.
- When Riki learns Burninate, he sings the Trogdor theme.
- In Episode 45, a Suelo Orluga ends up spooking him when it falls dead facing the camera.
- The outtake at the end where he tries to introduce Riki's new art just as he did earlier, but can't because he didn't have it equipped.
- In Episode 46, he talks about current gen games and their "1080p-ness."
- Chugga demonstrates jumping with ice physics.
- In Episode 47, Chuggaa gets a vision from an item orb on the ice slide. Chuggaa: Whoa! Umm... What a time to get a vision! Umm... If I fall, this is totally the Monado's fault, no question. *Chuggaa doesn't make the jump* I fell! OK. If I get hypothermia, this is totally the Monado's fault.
- Chugga cracking up over the game's pronunciation of "geyser" in the intro.
- In episode 48, as a testament to how wonky the ice physics are, He runs down a large ice slope, and jumps at the end. Shulk flies off, hits the side of the path, killing him, and then keeps flying. Chugga's laugh immediately after proves it.
- Also, when the party has to save the Nopon Researcher from a group of Cunning Chilkins that show up as the quest is accepted, the location of the Cunning Chilkins in the quest card is "Seriously Right Here, Valak Mountain."
- Another funny moment is him talking about the "Naked Dunban" strategy people use (one of his skills will boost his Agility considerably if he doesn't equip any armor) and apologizing to "the Dunban fangirls looking forward to that" for not using it.
- The fight with the Tranquil Morax in Episode 50 is just one Epic Fail after another.
- In Episode 52, he comments on Mumkhar's "That ain't got nothing to do with it" line and accompanying pose from the last episode, comparing him to a teenage girl.
- Episode 53 is full of glitches, including Reyn getting stuck under a platform, a Mechon getting stuck in a wall, and a Mechon pushing another Mechon into the floor.
- In Episode 57, he points out that Metal Face's Japanese name was Black Face, and he understands why they changed it for American release.
- While battling the Brutal Gravar in Episode 59:
- Shulk: I'm really feeling it! Fiora: Yay, Shulk. Go you. Chugga: *laughs* Fiora is really tired of that meme.
- Episode 60: Chugga comes across a Nopon named Migaga, and he works her name into the chorus for Bad Romance.
- In Episode 62, Chugga tries to sneak past a bunch of high-leveled monsters to get at some ether crystals. He manages to do it and cheers at his success only for them to notice him a second later.
- In Episode 64, Mischievous Naberius inflicts Blaze on Fiora and it ends up killing her while attempting to run away...until the enemy goes out of range, allowing her to replenish her HP above 0 and avoiding a blackout.
- He died five times against it, and showed off those failures.
- Episode 65: Chugga descends slowly into insanity when he has to make the long journey to the Distant Fingertip and is out of things to talk about.
- Chugga talks to an NPC and the camera angle makes it look like she's groping Shulk's crotch. And this is in Episode 69.
- Another awkward moment with an NPC comes when he talks to one that's mostly off-screen, making it look like he's talking to a disembodied arm.
- In Episode 70, Chugga goes back to Frontier Village and is concerned that he really needs to have four-star affinity with Central Bionis, but only has three. He then talks to an NPC and immediately gets that fourth star.
- In Episode 71, he mentions a new skill for Riki that increases the accuracy of back attacks by 50%. However, he accidentally says "fifteen" instead of "fifty". How does he correct this in post? By having a giant "*50%" pop up on the screen and a loud voice clip of Riki saying "DUN-DUN!" play over his commentary.
- Also in Episode 71, the voice he gives Adidi when Adidi gets...giant, which is, for her size-change, is obviously big and deep. Then he voices Dabidabi...who is not quite as big and deep. Needless to say, the contrast is very hilarious.
- In Episode 72, he talks to Pelupelu while Fiora runs and jumps against a tree in the background. And because this quest involves having to skip time repeatedly, Chugga calculates that she was doing this for about twelve in-game hours.
- He makes a leap of faith from the top of a platform in Mechonis Field while screaming, but runs out of air halfway down and starts sounding like a demonic pterodactyl by the time he hits the bottom.

- In Episode 74, Chuggaa goes into a discussion about Fiora's Mechon body, and how the mechanically-minded Shulk would probably prefer a half-robot wife. He manages to dig himself into a hole in this line of thinking.

- At one point, Riki randomly starts spazzing out in the background and spinning in circles.
- In Episode 88, he revisits the expanded Tephra Cave and has a heart-to-heart with Reyn, revisiting his fear of spiders. Even more funny is that the same enemies that were there in the beginning are back and more superior than ever.

- Sometime after the video was made, that section was then removed.
- During a fight with one of the remaining Mechon units, Chuggaa's party dies except for Riki. When the boss has a sliver of health left. And Riki is the only one without an anti-Mechon weapon. So if he didn't revive the others he would have to start over.

- The entire trainwreck of a fight against Frenzied Bana. Chugga: And thus, there was no one left to stop Zanza because one drug-dealer didn't want to get caught.
- In Episode 92, during a side quest for the Nopon Norara… Chugga: Mefimefi can be a little bit hard to find. She is found at nighttime on the opposite—that's not Mefimefi. (Gilligan Cut) Chugga: Mefimefi is indeed not hard to find. She is on the exact same balcony as Norara, just at nighttime…
- Dunban is Berryjammy's knight in shining ARMor!
- During a quest for Arda, He misread 'My frail old body' as 'My frail old booty'
- In Episode 93, he says he needed to exchange items between Dunban and Sharla in order to increase their affinity before viewing a heart-to-heart. One of the things he did was item exchanging. He says that "Dunban gave Sharla her Large Mangoes. *Beat* *snickers* Well!"
- His reaction to the aformentioned quote: "Um... okay, I've purposely been trying to avoid making Sharla boob jokes up to this point, and I really didn't mean it to sound like that? ... you know, I guess it had to happen sometime."
- Also, he says both during the outro and the first encounter with the Mysterious Telethia that "we made Melia less squishy."
- In Episode 95, Chugga was ranting on how narrow the pathways are and how enemies can knock you off the edge. He tries to lock-on to a Telethia, but instead he locked-on to an enemy called Victorious Gross of all things. Needless to say, he got a good chuckle out of that!

- This includes the dreaded Black Liver Bean, which is a rarity in the region.
- During the boss fight with Disciple Lorithea, he explains why they're considered That One Boss and, to top it all off, are extremely annoying for repeating "You will pay for your insolence!" over and over. He then shows a rapid montage of the boss saying this repeatedly.
- In Episode 98, Riki fighting with a dead fish. Later in the episode, Riki taking down a dragon with said dead fish!

- In Episode 101, he discovers one particularly funny quote after Reyn, Dunban, and Melia finish a battle. Reyn: Can't have a rainbow without Reyn, baby. Melia: Dunban. I think you need to have a talk with Reyn. Dunban: No. Let's pretend it didn't happen.

- In Episode 103, Chugga states that if he wasn't already set on having a Game Over screen on his tombstone, he'd like to be remembered as a "head-strong boing-lover."
- In Episode 104, this happens when he's trying to trade with Oleksiy: Chugga: Well, before we go talking to Zel, while they are here, they will trade different items than they trade in Colony 6. This is particularly interesting for Oleksiy, because, he will give us… (prepares a trade with a 5400 G surplus) Chugga: If we overtrade him—(fails to overtrade)—(muttering) Oh. 5400 wasn't enough, huh? (prepares a trade with a 6100 G surplus) Chugga: If you overtrade him—(fails to overtrade)—(softly) Wow, 6000 wasn't enough. (prepares a trade with a 7225 G surplus) Chugga: If you overtrade him—(fails to overtrade)—(slightly high-pitched) Wow, even 7000 wasn't enough! (prepares a trade with a 8038 G surplus) Chugga: If you overtrade him, he will give you an item that will be—(fails to overtrade)—what? (prepares a trade with a 8500 G surplus) Chugga: If you overtrade him, he will—(fails to overtrade) (prepares a trade with a 14250 G surplus, finally succeeding) —>Chugga: If you overtrade him, he will give you an item that'll be very important for later.
- He also gets the Demon King Dragonia quest earlier than usual, being only Level 81 against a Level 99 Dragon.
- In Episode 105…
- His intro: Chugga: Last time…we went around Colony 6 and faced the greatest of all enemies: the father-in-law. OK, no, that's not right, the greatest of all enemies is the mother-in-law. (laughs)
- Him reading the dialogue for the Malfunctioning Neonik.
- As he does his outro, there is a little girl NPC running around like crazy in the spot where the party stands, and is pushing them around.
- Episode 106:
- "He's still a tuna...."

- A Running Gag in the episode: Level 80s-90s Telethia detect and attack Chugga.
- One of those Telethia even came close to chasing him up an escalator.
- Episode 107:
- When Chugga decides to take on a level 89 Aora Telethia, while the party is at Level 82-83: Melia: Even when victory seems impossible…we march on! Reyn: Are you nuts?! Shulk: Can we actually win here? Chugga: (laughs) Good to know you have so much confidence in Melia, guys!
- Immediately after that, when battling said Aora Telethia: (Reyn's turn during a Chain Attack) Reyn: (uses Lariat) Dodge this! (Reyn misses) Chugga: (deadpan) It did.
- Immediately after that, when starting a battle with another Aora Telethia with different party members: Melia: Even when victory seems impossible…we march on! Fiora: There's no way we can win! Sharla: You trying to get us killed? Chugga: WOW! These girls have even less confidence in Melia.
- Episode 109:
- Chugga needed to consult the Xenoblade Wiki. An audio ad pops up later without his knowledge, and due to the setup of his speakers, he was convinced that someone had appeared behind him. Despite the fact his house was locked.
- He also once again screamed like a little girl and got his man points for the day taken away during that moment.
- Episode 113: "So, I was completely wrong about the Razor Teasels being the hard ones to obtain. You know those Lucky Skeeter Wings and Vang Hair Clips? Well, the only people that trade those, are Nick and Rosemary while they still live in Colony 9. And guess what we did? We invited them to Colony 6! So, guess where we need to go to obtain them from the enemies that drop them? AGORA FREAKING SHORE!"
- Episode 115: A blizzard kicks up during one of his attempts to get a Veritas Glyph from Final Marcus, spawning Avalanche Abaasy, the strongest enemy in the game. Chuggaa loses man points while fleeing and also gets multiple voice cracks. Chugga: I am nervous. I am about ready to OH GOD NO! I NEED TO GET THE HELL OUT OF DODGE!!!
- Outside of the main playthrough, Chugga has gone on record and said that he failed to beat Egil. He didn't know he had to destroy the shield generators, until ProtonJon asked him why he wasn't attacking what the game told him to.
- Especially funny because this is Chugga's favorite game, and he's done years of research preparing for it.
Trivia
- As a beacon for conventions and a possible hint to this LP, Emile had a replica Monado crafted by Justin Branfuhr and brought it to PAX East 2014.[1]
- Because Emile encourages his viewers to play along and because Xenoblade is hard to find and very expensive, he gave away 30 copies of the game - 4 of them being factory sealed - throughout the LP.
- This LP has had loads of spoiler comments throughout the videos, so much so that Chugga had to personally tell them to stop.
- The LP is indirectly referenced multiple times in Emile's 2017 LP of Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Welcome amiibo, by at least Molly and Shari.[2][3]
- This is Emile's favorite game. It is also Masae's favorite game.
- During the Let's Play Shulk was announced for Smash. It would happen again during the Let's Play of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 when Pyra and Mythra were announced for Smash themselves, to which Emile quipped "I'm three for two!".
